Seminyak and the Gili Islands do not have a direct link. It will be a mix of a vehicle ride and a fast boat ride.
You have a few choices!
From either Padang Bai or Serangan harbors in Bali, you can hop on a fast boat to the Gili Islands. The majority of speed boat operators provide complimentary (FREE) hotel pickup and drop-off service from the Seminyak area. If your hotel is located outside of the free zone, the boat operator may charge you an extra fee. We go through this in greater detail towards the end of this post.
The drive from Seminyak to Serangan harbor is shorter, but the boat ride is lengthier, taking about two and a half hours.
Padang Bai is a long drive (approx 1h 30m) from Seminyak, but it's a shorter boat ride from Bali to Gili, taking approximately an hour and a half. As a result, it is dependent on the type of sailor you are. If you want to spend as little time as possible on a boat, we recommend taking the Padang Bai to Gili route from Seminyak to Gili (Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, and Gili Meno)
Another, although the less popular option is to fly to Lombok and then drive up to Bangsal, Teluk Kode, or Teluk Nara to get a boat to the Gili Islands.
The cost of a trip from Seminyak to the Gili Islands cost between $25 to $50 per person. Depending on the route you take, the boat operator, and whether or not the boat operator provides free hotel pickup.
Some people prefer to hire a private driver to the ferry port, which will add IDR 250.000 - IDR 400.000 (approx) to the total cost of their trip from Seminyak to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, or Gili Meno.
